Dmitry Lyubinsky: The West has crossed all conceivable

The West has crossed all conceivable “red lines” around the situation in Ukraine and is literally entering a minefield, Russian Ambassador to Austria Dmitry Lyubinsky said on Wednesday, October 19, on Facebook (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned on the territory of the Russian Federation).
The question of complexes: what other weapons does NATO plan to transfer to Kyiv
And what do the upcoming exercises of the alliance on the forces of nuclear deterrence mean

This is how the diplomat reacted to an article in the newspaper Der Standart dated October 13, in which an interview with an Austrian mine expert, Horst Unterrieder, was published.

He talked about the use of land mines in Ukraine. The Russian embassy approached the newspaper with a proposal to place a response material on this topic, in which Moscow’s position would be stated, but the editors refused the diplomats.

The West has crossed every conceivable “red line” and is literally entering a minefield. In the information war against Russia, all means are good for a long time. Nevertheless, let’s hope those objective facts will also find their interested reader,” the ambassador wrote.

Lubinsky added that the West is at least an active accomplice in “large-scale” mine pollution “.

“The EU countries, pretending to support international humanitarian law and referring to the Ottawa and Oslo conventions, have in fact been supplying mines to Ukraine since 2014, thereby undermining international efforts in the field of humanitarian demining, which they, by the way, themselves and finance,” the diplomat stressed.

He recalled that the Ukrainian army uses PFM-1 Petal anti-personnel mines against civilians, which is prohibited by the Ottawa Convention. Thus, Kyiv is violating the Ottawa Convention that he himself signed.

On October 19, the head of the Russian delegation at the talks in Vienna on military security and arms control, Konstantin Gavrilov, said that the EU countries support the continuation of hostilities on the territory of Ukraine. He added that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will use the supply of Western weapons in order to carry out terrorist attacks on the civilian population of the Russian Federation.

On October 17, it became known that the foreign ministers of the EU countries intend to approve a new tranche of assistance to Ukraine and a training mission for the Ukrainian military.

Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Ukraine against the backdrop of a special operation by the Russian Federation to protect Donbass, whose residents refused to recognize the results of the 2014 coup d’état in Ukraine. Its beginning was announced on February 24 in connection with the aggravation of the situation due to the shelling of Ukrainian troops.
