Miss Virginia USA 2022 crowned Loud Down Co. firefighter

While Legend has it that Harvath is not on fire, she competed in a beauty pageant last week when she took the crown at the Miss Virginia Virginia USA pageant, which was held by George Mason.

It was her sixth time competing for the crown and this time she got it.

Year after year I’ve come very close, Harbath said. All this hard work has finally paid off.

It’s really exciting and really traumatic for me.

Harvath said he believes he has impressed judges with his perseverance and service to his community as a firefighter in the Ashburn Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department in Loudoun County.

The Fire Department recognized Harvath on social media, congratulated him, and noted that he had been a volunteer there since his senior year of high school in 2017.

I can have a direct impact on the lives of others, and talk about working with the department. Her father and older brother are part of the firefighting community.

I grew up in the vicinity of the fire service, Harvath said.

Relatively few female firefighters.

Harvath says she is proud to be a woman among about 11% of volunteer firefighters in the United States.

“I always say that your appearance has nothing to do with why you won (the beauty contest). “It’s your heart and how you present information in your story.”

Harbhajan will now represent Virginia in the Miss USA pageant later this year. A date and location have not yet been announced.

“A lot of the preparation that goes into it, I have to work hard month after month to make sure I can present the best possible version of myself,” Harvath said. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to stay at that level.”
